Two years ago, I initially ran for trustee against Ted Rosen and his running mates Pamela Marksheid and Michael DeLuccia. Subsequently, I had the opportunity to meet and work with these Village officials on certain projects. I came to learn how dedicated and hardworking Mayor Rosen, Deputy Mayor Marksheid and Trustee Michael DeLuccia are and how committed they are to making our Village better for our residents and merchants.
Mayor Rosen, Deputy Mayor Marksheid and Trustee Michael DeLuccia have come up with specific ideas and plans to help merchants and residents. One new project that was started by Mayor Rosen is a project with Hofstra University in which Great Neck Plaza merchants could take a series of six monthly workshops taught by Hofstra University instructors on topics that are very helpful to retail business today, including marketing, social media marketing and financial management. These workshops were provided by the Village to the merchants at no cost to the merchants. I worked with Mayor Rosen on this project and helped recruit Village merchants to register for the workshops.
Mayor Rosen and Deputy Mayor Marksheid also started a Residents Group whose members organize and present educational, cultural and entertaining programs for our residents and help foster a sense of community in our Village.
These are some specific ways that illustrate how Mayor Rosen, Deputy Mayor Marksheid and Trustee DeLuccia have come up with innovative, new programs to make our Village even better for all of our residents and merchants.
I have been named to become a member of the Village Board of Trustees to succeed Deputy Mayor Gerald Schneiderman, who will be retiring from the Board on a date to be determined. I look forward to working with Mayor Rosen, Deputy Mayor Marksheid and Trustee DeLuccia and to help continue their work in finding creative, new programs to help make Great Neck Plaza even better.
I will vote for the re-election of Ted Rosen as Mayor and Pamela Marksheid and Michael DeLuccia as Trustees. I ask my fellow Great Neck Plaza residents to join me in supporting them.
