Roslyn Middle School science café hosts Tatiana Engel

The Roslyn Middle School Library was pleased to welcome Tatiana Engel, assistant professor at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, to the Science Café recently where she presented to multi-grade audiences. Engel has a doctorate in physics from Humboldt University in Germany, where she became interested in computational neuroscience and the ability to use mathematical tools for real-life applications. Recruited to Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory from Stanford University’s Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Engel is now working on a new way to analyze large-scale neural recordings throughout the brain.
