Readers Write: A vote For Jon Kaiman is a vote that matters

Don’t throw away your vote for Congress.

On Aug. 23, I’m voting for Jon Kaiman to be my representative in Congress. I’m not voting for Jon because he thinks, hopes or wishes he will do a good job. I’m voting for him because he already has proven to me he can get the job done.

Good intentions are not enough. We need someone with actual real life experience in government. We need someone who will not only stand up to the Republicans in Congress, but also someone who has the skills to work with those members in Congress to get things done.

Why trust Jon? Because he is the only candidate in this race with the resume that shows he’s already done it and will continue to do it in Congress.

As a constitutional lawyer I trust him to protect a woman’s right to choose. As the former NIFA chairman, I trust him to make careful and responsible financial decisions to protect our economy. As the former Town of North Hempstead Supervisor, I trust him to protect the community where I live and fight for programs and laws that protect seniors, children and our environment.

He’s the only candidate who has already been doing this for decades. And he’s ready to do it in Congress. His experience and resume prove it. Voting for anyone else is throwing away our shot.
