A 20-year-old motorist died after a head-on collision on Searingtown Road last Thursday evening, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
The crash occurred at 5:09 p.m. just North of Old Searingtown Road, a public information officer said.
The victim was the sole occupant of a 2007 Honda Civic and collided with a 2000 Ford work van driver by a 29-year-old man who was also driving solo, he said.
Both men were taken to area hospitals, the 29-year-old with non-life threatening injuries.
A physician pronounced the victim dead at the hospital, according to officials.
