Top 3 Issues:
Immigration:
Montefinise said he would focus on using the money in this year’s budget to benefit the legal residents of New York. He said Democrats are putting money in this year’s budget to support the illegal immigrants pouring into our country by giving them food, shelter, free healthcare and taxpayer-funded debit cards. He said legal residents of the state are leaving in droves because they can no longer afford to live here.

Housing:
Montefinise said he would tackle the affordable housing crisis in New York if elected. He said despite the high cost of living, Democrats decided to enact the Good Cause Eviction bill, which “will essentially collapse” the rental markets by making it even more difficult for a landlord to evict a tenant. He said this will cause property owners to go out of business and sell their property to out-of-state or out-of-country interests who don’t care about the local community or the tenants to whom they rent.

Montefinise said money has been put into the state’s budget for more affordable housing, but none to assist the middle class with their housing needs.

Crime:
Montefinise said this year’s budget “completely fails” to address the rise in crime that has made neighborhoods and communities unsafe. He said Democrats made no attempt to repeal the no cash bail legislation or to enact additional protections for our police. He said the lawlessness continues and New York taxpayers suffer the consequences.
