On Sunday, July 17 at 3:00 p.m., Stephen C. Widom Cultural Arts at Emanuel will present a virtual concert, “How Sweet It Is!” — Steve Leslie sings James Taylor.
Grammy Award-winning recording artist Steve Leslie performs the music of James Taylor in How Sweet it is! — an authentic and spellbinding concert event! Steve’s warm baritone and exceptional guitar technique (not to mention his uncanny resemblance) will have you singing along to such classics as “Carolina In My Mind,” “Shower the People,” “You’ve Got a Friend,” “Fire and Rain,” “Up On the Roof,” and many more.
Steve Leslie has been playing guitar and singing onstage since he was 15 years old. Recently, Steve has joined some of the best players in Nashville in presenting How Sweet It Is! Steve Leslie Sings James Taylor.
As a recording artist Steve has released three CDs, as well as written the music and book for the full-length musical, Umbrella. • Steve has had a professional songwriting career spanning more than twenty-five years with songs recorded by Kenny Rogers, Mark Chesnutt, George Strait, Darryl Worley, Rhonda Vincent, Neal McCoy, Ricky Skaggs, Darius Rucker, and more.
A multiple BMI Award-winner, Steve received a Grammy for the title cut to Ricky Skaggs’ 2004 Best Bluegrass Album of the Year Brand New Strings.
This program is funded by Michael Dorfman & Family in honor of Talia, the 18th addition to their family, and daughter of Rachel & Justin Weis.
Registration for this virtual event is $10.
