New Hyde Park Road School commemorated World Down Syndrome Day on March 21 by encouraging students to wear colorful or mismatched socks. The socks were meant to celebrate everyone’s unique differences. Additionally, each class decorated a sock with positive phrases related to inclusion and students created a presentation for their peers to watch.
