Jewish War Veterans 127th anniversary program

The Jewish War Veterans of the USA will be celebrating the 127th Anniversary of the founding of their organization. The JWV was founded on March 15, 1896 by 63 Jewish veterans after a series of antisemitic comments about Jews not serving in the military. The JWV is the oldest U. S. veterans organization.

The JWV continues to work on numerous projects for its members, including helping veterans who failed to receive their medals and awards that they deserved.

The organization is inviting the public to attend a special program on Wednesday, March 15, at noon at Central Synagogue – Beth Emeth, 430 DeMott Ave. in Rockville Centre.

Admission is free, but advance reservations no later than Monday, March 6 are required for this program. A luncheon will be served following the program.

For additional information and required reservations, please call Post Commander Eric Spinner at (516) 369-5313. You may also register online at www.we-are-vets.us/jwv127
