Do you know that the first Great Neck Library was planned and promoted by a determined group of women, headed by Louise Udall Skidmore Eldridge in 1880? They held a fundraiser and raised $30 which was the beginning of a long journey to make books accessible to everyone in the community.
Christy Orquera, who heads Adult Services, Research and the Local History department at the library will present a program about how this institution became one of the foundations of Great Neck’s cultural development.
The Great Neck Historical Society is pleased to invite you to join us on Wed., March 6 at 7:30 at Great Neck House for what promises to be an informative and entertaining program.
Light refreshments will be served.
