Alzheimer’s Foundation of America presents check to NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island to help fund innovative Alzheimer’s research study

The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America recently presented NYU Langone Hospital – Long Island with a $300,000 check to fund innovative Alzheimer’s research in hope of finding a cure for the disease.

The team, led by Dr. Allison Reiss, is examining genetic information in brain cells to find the cause of Alzheimer’s disease with the goal of reprogramming them to behave like healthy cells.

The team’s mission is to develop treatments to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s or prevent it entirely by comparing Alzheimer’s neurons with those of healthy people.
