A Williston Park family is asking local communities for help in finding their lost dog.

Conor and Cristina Teehan of Cornell Street are looking for their 6-year-old Havanese-poodle mix named Coco, who ran out the house on Aug. 8 around 12:30 p.m.

Conor said she ran toward Willis Avenue at the time of her escape.

Coco is approximately seven pounds with blonde and beige hair on her body, with some darkness on her ear.

“We’ve had her for six years. Any animal lover would sympathize with the pain one endures when a pet goes missing,” Conor said.

Fliers have been put up around Mineola, Garden City, Herricks and Albertson and Teehan is asking anyone with information to please reach out to either Blank Slate Media or the village hall of Williston Park.

“Our fear is that someone has her and doesn’t realize she’s a family dog. It was Coco’s birthday yesterday, and she would have celebrated her sixth birthday with us, but instead we spent that day visiting shelters and vets looking for leads,” Conor said. “While we’ve had many people in the community call with words of support and encouragement, we have not had any real leads since she ran away.”
