From the Director

The summer 2024 Reading Program theme is Adventure Begins at Your Library.  Our program will run from June 29-August 10.  The schedule is listed in this column and our Facebook page.

We are suspending donation acceptance until further notice.  We are at storage capacity.  Please consider donating to The Book Fairies.  Their contact number is 516-557-6645.

The library is still distributing Covid-19 tests while supplies last.  Please ask at the Reference Desk.

Yoga—Saturdays—June 22; July 6, 13, 20, 27; August 3 (10:30am),10, 17, 24, 31—Noon-1 pm in the Assembly Room of Village Hall. $10 p/person, p/session. Homeowner Exemption Liaison Program—Wednesday—July 11—1-3 pm in the Assembly Room of Village Hall.  Learn about various exemptions available to you; receive assistance with completing applications.  For a list of forms, go to https://nassaucountyny.gov/3575/exemption-forms

Free Shredding Service will be available on Saturday, August 10, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Schechter School parking lot. No registration is necessary.

Ceramic Sitting Fairy Craft—Tuesday—August 20—6 pm in the Library.  $15 material fee.  Limited to 25 participants.  Call the library (742-1820) or email willistonparkprograms@gmail.com to register.

Empire Safety Driving Course—Thursday—August 29—10 am-4 pm in the Assembly Room of Village Hall for drivers of all ages.  $33 p/person due at registration.  Limited to 35 participants.  Check only payable to Diana Palumbo-Wilson.  The payment deadline is August 22.

Book Discussion—Wednesday—September 18–7 pm in the Assembly Room of Village Hall and via Zoom.  Copies of Demon Copperhead will be available at the Circulation Desk.

Children’s Programs

Minecraft: Exploring Ancient Egypt—Saturday, June 22, 12-2 p.m. in the Children’s Room for grades K-5. The vendor will provide the first 10 iPads. Additional participants must bring their own devices. Call the library (742-1820) or email willistonparkprograms@gmail.com to register.
