Mineola serial burglar charged with 10 counts: Cops

A Mineola man has been charged with 10 counts of burglary for his connection to at least nine burglaries in Nassau County, police said.

Police were responding to a building alarm shortly after 4 a.m. on Aug. 12 when they observed Peter Granath, 30, running westbound on Ferncroft Road. Granath was found at the intersection of Mineola Avenue and Canterbury Road by police, who then conducted a thorough investigation and charged him in previous burglaries, the authorities said.

The nine previous burglaries took place from July 20 to Aug. 12 in East Williston, Mineola and Hempstead.

Along with 10 counts of burglary in the third-degree, Granath is also charged with  10 counts of criminal mischief in the third-degree and criminal mischief in the fourth-degree, according to the police.
