
A Mineola man was charged with driving while intoxicated with his teenage daughter in his truck after after hitting another vehicle in Carle Place Friday night, police said.
Matthew Ryan, 42, was driving westbound on Westbury Avenue in his 2014 Dodge Ram before crossing into eastbound lanes of traffic, police said.
Ryan’s car struck a 2021 Dodge Ram that was being driven by a 42-year-old woman, police said. He then left the scene of the accident before coming to a stop in front of 252 Westbury Ave. due to damage to his tires, police said.
The woman in the accident was treated at a hospital for minor injuries, police said. Ryan’s 13-year-old daughter, who was a passenger at the time of the crash, suffered no injuries and was released in the custody of a relative, police said.
Ryan was charged with DWI, aggravated driving while intoxicated, assault in the third degree, endangering the welfare of a child and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations, police said.
