The 4th Annual Multifaith Thanksgiving Celebration will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. at the Brookville Multifaith Campus at 2 Brookville Road in Glen Head.
What began solely as a protestant Dutch church 284 years ago is now where the Brookville Church, The Interfaith Community of Long Island, The Muslim Reform Movement Organization, and The New Synagogue of Long Island call the same location home, according to a press release from the Brookville Church/Multifaith Campus.
“I have spoken of the need for peace and reconciliation between religions for years, but this is the first time I am actually involved in a place that is putting it into practice,” Reverend Vicky Eastland, pastor at Brookville Church said. “We believe that celebrating our diversity while respecting and honoring our differences are not mutually exclusive.”
A free international food reception will follow the service.
Donations will be accepted of $20 to purchase Thanksgiving turkeys for the Glen Cove Economic Opportunity Council for underserved families.
