Food insecurity, which is a serious problem across Long Island, has significantly increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever, basic food necessities are in greater demand to meet the nutritional needs of children and their families.
To support efforts to assist those in need, members of the Nassau County Council of School Superintendents donated $2,500 to Island Harvest. The donation, one of several fundraising efforts held by the NCCSS throughout the year, will be used to fund ongoing efforts to address hunger issues on Long Island.
