Nassau County police are searching for a burglar who came through the roof of a Mineola supermarket and robbed it early Sunday morning.
The robber broke into the Western Beef Supermarket at 61 Second St. through a skylight at 5:05 a.m. Sunday and unsuccessfully tried to get into the market’s office, police said.
Armed with a hammer and silver handgun, the robber threatened two supermarket employees, ages 50 and 35, who were arriving for work and took cash and a cell phone from them, police said.
The robber left the store through a rear emergency door, police said. No one was hurt.
