Two National Merit semifinalists at Sewanhaka’s New Hyde Park Memorial High School

New Hyde Park Memorial High School students YouJun Fred Han and Ethan Mehta have been selected as semifinalists in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Students enter the competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. More than 16,000 students qualify as semifinalists due to their high scores on the test. A semifinalist must fulfill several additional requirements and advance to the finalist level of the competition before being considered for a National Merit Scholarship.
