Saddle Rock School is continuing its nine-year partnership with the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island to provide a service-learning opportunity for Saddle Rock’s fifth-grade students.

At the beginning of the year-long service-learning program, fifth-graders meet with volunteers from the Ronald McDonald House to better understand the services provided by the organization.

Later, each fifth-grade class takes a field trip to the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park, where students donate supplies and bake fresh, sweet treats in the Ronald McDonald kitchens for families staying at the House.

Back at school, students conduct a month-long read-a-thon to support the Ronald McDonald House.

Since 2011, Saddle Rock School has raised over $30,000 through this partnership.
