Roslyn High School students enrolled in the district’s Bloomberg Class visited the New York Stock Exchange on Dec. 14.

They arrived early enough to witness the opening bell, then toured the floor and met with the NYSE Designated Market Maker from GTS and Group One Trading to learn about options and different career paths.

“We experienced some incredible moments and met with professionals who provided a lot of insight and advice,” said teacher Magdaleeni Milonakis. “Getting a first-hand look at the NYSE gave students a real perspective on what we discuss in class on a daily basis. It was an incredible experience.”

The Bloomberg Class takes place in the recently completed Financial Research Lab and Trading Floor — a state-of-the-art lab room equipped with 24 student terminals featuring Bloomberg Terminal software and an interactive Market Wall. It allows students to learn the software programs that drive the financial marketplace and provides them with a hands-on learning experience.
