Roslyn High School hosted its first-ever Senior Athletic and Physical Education Awards Dinner on June 11 with support from the Roslyn Bulldogs Boosters Association.
The event was held in the high school cafeteria, which was transformed into a beautiful banquet hall adorned in Roslyn blue.
Nearly 50 student-athletes and their family members attended the event. Superintendent Allison Brown, Roslyn High School assistant principal Dave Lazarus, and members of the coaching staff were also present.
Michael Brostowski, director of physical education and athletics, kicked off the evening with welcoming remarks, followed by Jennifer DiSanti, president of the Roslyn Bulldogs Boosters Association, and Roslyn Board of Education President Meryl Waxman Ben-Levy.
Freshman Dylan Sakaria sang the National Anthem. After a dinner catered by local restaurant Abeetza, 46 scholarship awards were given out to the most accomplished student-athletes of the Class of 2024.
“The evening was truly something special and a great way to celebrate the drive, dedication, and training that our athletes put in during their years at Roslyn High School,” said Brostowski. “Kudos to Roslyn Bulldogs Booster president Jennifer DiSanti for inaugurating this event with such attention to detail and for making it such a memorable evening.”
