Mineola High School students are connecting with younger children in the district through reading. Students in Mrs. Zaffarese’s English classes at the High School wrote their own books and shared them with second graders at Hampton Street School and Meadow Drive School.

The high schoolers read their stories and collaborated with the young in-person and remote learners over Webex.

The second-grade students were inspired by the high school students as both authors and illustrators. Teachers at Hampton Street and Meadow Drive also enjoyed having the opportunity to see their former students during the virtual read-aloud.
