The Roslyn High School English Department hosted New York Times Bestselling fiction author Jill Santopolo for a workshop on transforming a passion for writing into a fulfilling and lucrative career in publishing on Nov. 21.
Students enrolled in creative writing, independent study and literary magazine classes were in attendance along with teachers.
“We were thrilled to be able to host Ms. Santopolo and have her show students the incredible opportunities that exist for aspiring writers who dream of someday seeing their names in print,” said English Department Chair Jennifer Sapir. “It was a great pleasure to offer students this unique opportunity.”
Santopolo, who was raised on Long Island, spoke about her love of reading and her journey to becoming a published author. After her talk, she held a Q&A to offer personalized advice to the students about their work and future writing careers.
