
Paul D. Schreiber High School students won 15 different awards in various categories between the recent Long Island Science and Engineering Fair and the New York State Science and Engineering Fair.
The NYSSEF award winners were:
- Zachary Gruber – First Place, Biomedical Engineering
- Joseph Melkonian – Second Place, Mathematics, and Mu Alpha Theta Award
- Julia Ruskin – Third Place, Social Sciences
- Kushal Upadhyay – Honorable Mention, Mathematics
The LISEF award winners were split between the Grande, Special, and JV Award recipients. The Grande Award recipients were:
- Zachary Gruber – Third Place, Biomedical Engineering
- Joseph Melkonian – Third Place, Mathematics
- Molly McLoughlin – Third Place, Environmental Engineering
- Julia Ruskin – Honorable Mention, Behavioral and Social Sciences
The Special Award recipients were:
- Joseph Melkonian – Mu Alpha Theta Award
- Molly McLoughlin – Association of Women Geoscientists Award
- Julia Ruskin – American Psychology Award
The JV Award recipients were:
- Dalia Bercow and Leah Taylor – First Place, Behavioral and Social Sciences
- Emma Levin – First Place, Environmental Science
- Emma Klein and Diya Sani – Second Place, Medicine and Health
- Brittany Polevikov – Honorable Mention, Behavioral and Social Sciences
The district congratulates these students, as well as teachers Ray Divenuto, Marla Ezratty, Tina Gallagher, George Muhlbauer and John Schineller for guiding these incredible young minds.
