NHP Math Scholars

Sixth grader Disha Chakraborty

New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School District is proud to announce that three of its students are among 84 students islandwide who have been named Long Island Young Scholars of Mathematics by the Institute of Creative Problem Solving for Gifted and Talented Students at SUNY Old Westbury.

The selected students are sixth graders Disha Chakraborty and Shohom Chakraborty from New Hyde Park Road School, and sixth-grader Emily Lee from Hillside Grade School.

The students’ selection means that they are in the top one-tenth of one percent of math students in their grade islandwide.
