Hillside Grade School fifth-graders in Jennifer Micalizzi and Julie Croshere’s class recently completed quilt square drawings as part of a Town of North Hempstead initiative.
The project is “North Hempstead Strong: Reflections and Messages of Hope During COVID-19.” One of the initiatives of the project is creating a virtual quilt that will be displayed throughout the town.
Students decorated their squares with positive messages and drawings, as well as notes of thanks to essential workers.
