Floral Park authorizes purchase of body cameras for P.D.

The Floral Park Board of Trustees on Tuesday night authorized the purchase of body cameras for the village police department.

The resolution, passed unanimously, calls for the spending of $189,874.30 for the equipment. Of that total, $64,000 is being funded by the Division of Criminal Justice Services.

In unrelated news, the board also accepted a donation from the Floral Park Little League to renovate and the infield for baseball field #7 at the rec center. The league is donating $12,800 to resod the baselines and pitcher’s mound.

The next Floral Park Board of Trustees meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 7.
