
New Hyde Park Road School Principal Kim LaRegina has been promoted to the role of director of curriculum and instruction for the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School District, effective July 1.
LaRegina has served as the principal of Road School since 2016. At the helm of the building, she has participated in the development and evaluation of building and district programs, including Reading and Writing Fundamentals, Fundations, Savvas Math, PNW BOCES, HMH Science Dimensions, Harmony SEL and Project Lead the Way. Additionally, LaRegina has collaborated with other administrators in-district to ensure leadership is consistent with the mission and vision of the district while aligning work to the Portrait of a Learner. She also participates in the district’s Curriculum Review, Professional Development and Technology Advisory Committees.
Prior to her time in New Hyde Park-Garden City Park, LaRegina served as an assistant principal at John Street School and Polk Street School in Franklin Square. She began her career in education as a classroom teacher at Polk Street School in 1998.
LaRegina earned her BA in Elementary Education and Communication from Queens College, her Masters in Literacy from Hofstra University and completed the School Administrator Supervisor Certificate Program at the College of Saint Rose.
