New Hyde Park Memorial students volunteer

Members of the Business Honor Society at New Hyde Park Memorial High School spent the day at the Mary Brennan Shelter in Hempstead.

On Feb. 18, during the winter break, eleven members of the Business Honor Society at New Hyde Park Memorial High School spent the day at the Mary Brennan Shelter in Hempstead. The students helped prepare and sort food that is served to 300 daily visitors of the shelter, while others sorted through clothing and donations.

“It was a wonderful experience,” student Naim Roberts said. “It felt good knowing that we helped others less fortunate than ourselves.”
