On June 5, Manor Oaks School hosted its first-ever Sharpen the Saw Day, an all-day event that allowed students in grades K-6 to explore different interests in four self-selected workshops.

The available workshops included Bracelet Making, Card Games, Clay Creations, Creative Cooking, Fitness Lab Exercise Stations, Journaling with Art, Karaoke, Kayaking, Kids Yoga, Lava Lamps, Learning a TikTok Partner Dance, Lego Lovers, Ninjutsu, Stretching for Flexibility and Stress Relief, Vision Board and 3D Paper Craft Creations.

Sharpen the Saw is one of the seven components of the values and principles from the “7 Habits of Happy Kids,” where students have been learning how to take charge by balancing personal choices and activities. The goal of “sharpening the saw” is to find ways to relieve stress, try new skills or learn something new. This schoolwide event provided time for students to relax, explore their interests and learn a new skill.
