A Mineola teacher has each been named Nassau County Mathematics Teacher of the Year by the Nassau County Math Teachers Association (NCMTA).

Kerry Ann D’Angelo is a seventh grade math teacher at Mineola Middle School who has been with the district for nine years.

“Kerry Ann is a conscientious, kind and collaborative colleague,” said Mineola Middle School Principal Amy Trojanowski. “In the classroom, Kerry Ann’s commitment to her students is evident. She fosters a culture of problem-solving where students participate readily; sharing their thinking and are not afraid to make mistakes. Working with and learning alongside Kerry Ann is a privilege. She is professional, innovative, and her warmth is palpable.”

Ms. D’Angelo’s accomplishments as a math educator will be recognized at the annual NCMTA spring reception on May 11.
