Eleven Mineola High School AP Research students were selected as finalists and honored during a ceremony at the 14th annual Long Island Youth Summit, which was held on March 31 at St. Joseph’s University.
The students were recognized for their yearlong research projects, which included presentations on celebrity worship syndrome, the adaptation of the four-day school week in public schools, meat consumption and the climate crisis and revision of the New York State military education system.
The Mineola learners honored for the Summit are Skyla Azeharie, June Bang, Delilah Barbour, Gabriela Bosco, Toniann Guerreiro, Michael Jimenez, Justin Kim, Eunice Lee, Michaela Palumbo, Anthony Sartori and Diana Smykiv.
The Long Island Youth Summit brings together students from throughout Long Island for a day of interactive workshops with experts in the fields of medicine, the environment, business and the economy, and leadership.
