Manhasset Board honors diplomacy and financial literacy in students

During their May meeting, the Manhasset Board of Education honored two very special groups of students for achievements that demonstrated their dedication to diplomacy and financial literacy, respectively.

Manhasset High School students competed against students from other Long Island and Greater New York area schools in the Columbia University Education Simulation (CESIMS) Model United Nations Conference held last November and the Hofstra Model United Nations Conference held in March. The following Manhasset students won awards at these conferences:

The board also took time to recognize six teams (24 students) who participated in the National Economics Challenge, including two teams that won the New York State Regional round and advanced to the state finals round. These teams were comprised of students Sophia Hill, Abby Kolyer, Richard Lee, Isabelle Lin, Ashley Luo, Benjamine Mo, Fayfay Ning, Wendy Qu and Sophie Vincoff.
