The Manhasset Public Schools proudly granted tenure to 25 dedicated educators from across the district on Oct. 19. The tenure recipients were celebrated during the district’s annual Tenure Recognition Ceremony in Manhasset Secondary School’s Karl F. Hueglin, Jr. Black Box Theater. Proud administrators, board of education members, colleagues and family members showed their support as they packed the theater for the momentous occasion.

Dr. Donald Gately, assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction and personnel, served as the master of ceremonies and introduced Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gaurav Passi at the opening of the event. Dr. Passi congratulated the evening’s tenure recipients and acknowledged the significant professional achievement.

“Achieving tenure is an incredible milestone,” he said. “Achieving tenure means that the district has complete faith and confidence in you and your abilities, and we gratefully accept you into our school district for the rest of your career.”

Board President Steven Panzik also addressed the tenure recipients and thanked them for choosing Manhasset as the place where they share their passions.

“I commend all of you on everything that you have done to this point in your career,” he said. “I look forward to seeing everything that you are going to achieve here in Manhasset and I thank you on behalf of the board for being a part of our family.”

Dr. Rebecca Chowske, president of the Manhasset Administrators and Supervisors Association, Frank Russo, president of the Manhasset Education Association and Stephanie Yacavone, president of the Manhasset Educational Support Personnel Association, also congratulated the tenure recipients on their well-deserved honor.

Throughout the evening, central and building administrators and department leaders recognized each tenure recipient one by one at the podium by sharing positive stories and comments from fellow colleagues. Each tenure recipient also received a certificate as they were congratulated by Dr. Passi and the Manhasset Board of Education.

Tenure recipients included: Gabriella Abrams, Alyssa Alvarez, Marc-Andrew Ardito, Ioanna Baktidy, Jared Berry, Jacqueline Burgos, Anathael Chery, Adrianna D’Angelo, Jacqueline DeSiena, Katelyn Dussel, Elaine Goodwin, Cassandra Hadnagy, Jessica Held, Nina Levine, Meaghan Lisi, Danielle Macumber, Debra Miraglia, Melanie Paez, Marcia Pollack, Elisabeth Raeihle, David Romero, Janelle Talibon, Michael Tarnowski, Cathleen Tobak and Jessica Zoller.

Following the recognition ceremony, the tenure recipients and their guests enjoyed light refreshments as the celebration drew to a close.
