The voices of Herricks fifth graders from Denton Avenue Elementary School filled Citi Field on Sept. 30 as students had the honor of singing the National Anthem before the Mets game.

The students were excited to get the VIP treatment as they were led through the tunnels of the stadium onto the field for the performance. An unexpectedly thrilling moment came as the students sang “rocket’s red glare” and fireworks shot from the top of the massive Citi Field scoreboard where the faces of the students were displayed.
