Herricks seventh grade artist recognized for Arbor Day celebration

Herricks Middle School seventh grader Laura Kopcinski had her artwork highlighted as part of Nassau County Parks Department Arbor Day celebration.

The artwork featuring a tree was selected by Deputy Director of Parks John Darcy. Kopcinski’s art became the design on t-shirts worn by park volunteers, many of whom are Herricks High School student volunteers.

“We are very proud of Laura on this honor,” says Herricks Director of Fine and Performing Arts Anissa Arnold. “Congratulations to Laura and to her art teacher Cindy Perotti for fostering her artistic growth.”
