Herricks High School Chamber Choir was recently one of eight choirs who had the honor of participating at Carnegie Hall in the Manhattan Concert Productions Festival. The Herricks students sang under the baton of nationally recognized choral conductor Dr. Amanda Quist from the University of Miami.
“To sing on a stage of such enormous magnitude was an unforgettable experience,” said Herricks Choral Director Louise O’Hanlon. She proudly shared, “This opportunity gave our students and All-State type experience, and I am enormously proud of the work they put in and their high level of artistry.”
Over 250 students representing all eight choirs rehearsed at the Manhattan Manor in New York City for three days prior to their performance. Herricks was the only New York choir present. Members of the other choirs were from Florida, California, Maryland and New Jersey.
