Hampton breaks out for education

Kindergarten through second-graders at Hampton Street School in the Mineola Union Free School District have been participating in seasonal-themed Breakout EDU games during their library periods with library media specialist Diane Nodell.

Breakout EDU utilizes critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communication to create an interactive, interdisciplinary and fun learning experience where students have to solve puzzles in order to “breakout” and open a box affixed with numerous locks. Each class will participate in a Breakout EDU several times during the course of the year, set to a theme that coincides with the season or classroom lesson.
