John Lewis Childs School fifth graders in Christina Saunders’ class collaborated on a project after reading the school’s Book of the Month for September, “Where Are You From?” by Yamile Saied Méndez.
The students discussed where their families are from, wrote down five facts about it and then shared their similarities and differences. Their writing was used for a display in the back of the classroom.
