Denton Avenue book club addresses important topics

Denton Avenue School parents, teachers, and Principal Loren Borgese have been participating in a book club, this school year, as a way to connect as a community through literature.

Group members read “The Gift of Failure” by Jessica Lahey and met several times between November and mid-January. They engaged in discussions around children, parenting and the positive long-term qualities – such as resilience and determination – that can arise from allowing kids to experience challenges.

“It was a beautiful mix of teachers, administrators, and parents from different cultures and experiences,” Borgese said. “We all left feeling such a strong sense of community.”
