Herricks High School students Jazlynn Fok and Chiara Tan are two of 12 students throughout New York State that were accepted into the 2017 New York State School Music Association Piano Showcase.
They earned this opportunity by obtaining perfect scores on their NYSSMA solo auditions, and were also required to submit applications that included a recorded component.
While Herricks has a longstanding history of participation in this elite event, having two performers is a first in the district as far as records show.
