2 Queens men arrested for grand larceny in Roslyn Heights

Two Queens men were arrested in Roslyn Heights early Sunday morning and accused of grand larceny, Nassau County police officers said.

Officers responded around 2 a.m. Sunday to a call from a 58-year-old woman on Shephard Lane who reported she saw an unknown man in her driveway opening the door of her husband’s 2017 Honda Accord.

The woman reported a second man also attempting to open her neighbor’s car doors.

Police found Mateo Leon, 20, and Syed Montasir Rahman, 18, both of Jamaica, near Amherst Road and Roslyn Road in Albertson, and the pair was arrested without incident. Leon’s 2016 Nissan Ultima was parked a short distance away.

An investigation, police said, revealed the two men also entered the following vehicles on Saturday:

Further investigation revealed the subjects entered the following vehicles on Aug. 31:

Multiple items purchased with one of the stolen credit cards were also found in Leon’s vehicle.

Leon is charged with three counts of grand larceny, two counts of petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, identity theft and attempted petit larceny.

Rahman is charged with two counts of grand larceny, two counts of petit larceny and attempted petit larceny.

Both defendants will be arraigned today at 1st District Court in Hempstead.
