North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Council Member Anna Kaplan joined Nassau County Executive Laura Curran at a Diwali celebration held at the Nassau County Legislative Chambers on Nov. 2. 

Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, is celebrated each year in October or November, and coincides with the darkest new moon night of the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika.  This year Diwali fell on Nov. 7.
