D’Urso announces state to resurface Northern State Parkway

Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso in his district office

State Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso announced that the state Department of Transportation will resurface the Northern State Parkway. Tentatively scheduled to start next summer, the state DOT will resurface the parkway from the Queens border up to the Meadowbrook Parkway, including the entrance and exit ramps.

The announcement follows a meeting with Joseph Brown, Long Island Regional Director of NYDOT, at the assemblyman’s district office to discuss the DOT’s five-year plans to maintain state roads within the 16th Assembly District.

During the meeting, Brown and members of his staff assured D’Urso that repaving Port Washington Boulevard (NYS Route 101) is a top priority and that Northern State Parkway will also be repaved from the city line up to the Meadowbrook Parkway. This project includes repaving the exit and entrance ramps.

“The maintenance of our roads is essential,” D’Urso said. “This resurfacing project will make driving on the parkway more pleasant.”

The parkway will first be milled and then resurfaced with a smooth new surface.
