I endorse Tom Suozzi.

As a Congressman, Mayor, and Nassau County Executive he has represented a proud tradition of service. He championed: better healthcare, gun-safety laws, cost reduction of prescription drugs, fair tax policy, and protection of our natural resources such as the Long Island Sound.

However, the challenge is with the voters in this special election

On Feb. 13, we now face include national controversies. We are challenged by a Republican Majority Congress which does not take action on immigration policies, and which holds hostage the aid to our allies.

We are challenged by referendums on a woman’s right to choose and a worker’s right to strike.

These national and local issues can be solved by representatives like Tom Suozzi who have a calm voice and an open mind which most certainly will steer us to solutions.
