New York Republicans are talking out of both sides of their mouth about abortion and reproductive rights.
After decades of demonizing Planned Parenthood, ostracizing women for making their own decisions, and railing against Roe, they are now suddenly all about moderation. They’ll oppose a national ban, they claim, and they’ll support IVF (it’s insane we’re even discussing that).
It’s a cynical charade they’re putting on because they know voters are upset. If they were serious about defending our rights, they would commit to codifying Roe. They would support New York’s Equal Rights Amendment to strengthen abortion rights protections instead of trying to boot it off the ballot. They would actually take a strong stand.
Talk is cheap. Actions matter.
