Readers Write: Re-elect Peirez to keep GN schools great

John F. Kennedy said, “Happiness is the full use of one’s talents along lines of excellence.”

The above quote can be applied to Donna Peirez regarding her re-election to the Great Neck Board of Education. Donna has demonstrated her noteworthy talents, credentials and experience in the quest for excellence in her many roles as a parent, an active Great Neck citizen and in all of her elected positions. She is thoughtful and passionate about quality education, which has been her creed for each and every student. She has been a strong advocate for children, their educational growth, emphasizing the beauty of differences in learning and inspiring their educational appreciation.

Donna has dedicated her life to instilling a standard of excellence and leadership in many ways. Her leadership was recognized resulting in her election as PTA president at the Baker Hill School followed by her election as president of the Parent Teacher Organization and then her election as the chairperson for the United Parent Teacher Conference. She taught at the Community school and for 28 years at the Lakeville school.

In 2016 she ran a successful campaign vice president. Her focus was to “give back” to the Great Neck community for what she felt her children had so fortunately received as students. As a result of Donna’s membership on the board, the Great Neck school district was ranked No. 1 by Niche.com.

Please join me on May 17 to re-elect Donna Peirez to the Great Neck School Board of Education. Her re-election is essential to maintain the excellence and respected reputation enjoyed by Great Neck’s school system. We will all reap the benefits by her service.
