Donna Peirez has dedicated her life to being a child advocate. Her career began as an active parent in the Great Neck Public Schools Parent Teacher Associations and United Parent-Teacher Council. Moving on, she worked as a pre-kindergarten and elementary school teacher for the Great Neck Public Schools.

Peirez also served as a vice president of the Great Neck Teachers Association. Upon her retirement from the Great Neck Public Schools, wanting to continue her pursuit of being a positive voice for children and for public education, Peirez ran for the Great Neck Board of Education. Working tirelessly to better the lives of children through outstanding education is the common thread woven through all of Peirez’s roles.

In each capacity, Peirez has demonstrated strong leadership skills and an innate ability to reach consensus. She works well with all constituents, always seeking a common ground that unites them. Peirez is an excellent problem-solver who brings a unique perspective regarding how to best educate children. In all of her interactions, she consistently exhibits thoughtfulness, patience, and a calm demeanor.

As a trustee on the Great Neck Board of Education, Peirez’s depth and breadth of educational knowledge makes her eminently qualified to continue in her current role.
