What do we live for, if not you?
What time allows, to deserve the days and keep them
from flying away because we cherish what’s within.

The sky is blue with its sun.
Baby is smiling and laughing this morning.
There’s butter all over your face, how beautifully
you smile and laugh.

We complete the circle of life and do not cross it.
Fathers and mothers, daughters and sons,
sisters and brothers, uncles and aunts, all of us.
We are blessed through love, straight from dreams,
not words easily broken.

Baby cries. Cry, just let loose your lungs.
Grow big on mother’s milk, intent for nursing,
hungry for life.

Now it is time to lay down and dream,
see the baby sleeping. Slowly, slowly.
Carefully, not a word.
Sleep through the night, let it brush past.

The day churns without worry.
There’s no better time to be alive, we are grateful.
Each is a diamond. Beloved.
