I have lived in Manorhaven for 56 years and can honestly say that the Village looks better since Mayor Jim Avena took office than it ever has.
After years of living with potholed roads and broken curbs and sidewalks, Mayor Avena found grant money to pave a good number of roads and has seen to having a lot of curbs and sidewalks fixed.
Another reason the village looks so much nicer is because under Mayor Avena’s leadership, Codes are being enforced better. So people who don’t follow the rules get fined, which makes more people follow the rules. Simple, but really effective.
I can’t wait to see Manorhaven Boulevard completed. We have been inconvenienced for several months, but it will have been worth it when the work is done, which I hear will be very soon. Once the Boulevard is done, I’m sure it will attract more businesses to fill the stores that have been empty for years, which will also be great.
As I said, our village has never looked better than it does with Jim Avena as our mayor. There is no question that my friends and I are voting to re-elect Mayor Avena and electing Rita Di Lucia and Dan Garcia.
